MAGNIFICENT DESOLATION

Since the decline of the economy, more than 2.5 million homeowners have faced foreclosure. The loss of a home can be devastating to a family, and the emotional toll can add to their financial stress. The resulting depression can leave them feeling hopeless. [ HP ]
If I were asked to name the chief benefit of the house, I should say: the house shelters day-dreaming, the house protects the dreamer, the house allows one to dream in peace. [ GB ]
The U.S. worked hard to create the American dream of opportunity. But today, that dream is a myth. [ JS ]
Every day our people are making their websites and holograms, while sitting in chairs made in China, working on computers made in China, driving over bridges made in China. Does this sound sustainable to you, Alan? [ DE ]
Engineers that once earned six-figure incomes with NASA’s space shuttle program are now looking for work or taking jobs that are far below their skill level due to the retirement of the Discovery, Endeavor, and Atlantis shuttles. [ DT ]
The [moon's] surface is fine and powdery. I can kick it up loosely with my toe. It does adhere in fine layers, like powdered charcoal, to the sole and sides of my boots. [ NA ]
A country whose dreams vanish in a poof of smoke may have a hard time stirring the imagination of its workers. Still, it’s hard to make the case that the country that spawned everything from Coca Cola to Facebook isn’t dreaming. [ CT ]
